Enjoying the evening at home with the family and reflecting on the last couple of weeks. Been a while since I blogged:
1. Been a great last couple of weeks. Vacation was great and Youth camp was amazing this past week.
2. Church yesterday was AWESOME!!! Kicked-off our new series: God At The Movies and it was a lot of fun and life-changing!
3. Several people received Christ as Savior yesterday and we baptized 3 people! I also had the thrill of baptizing one of our students at Youth Camp! 4 baptisms this week!
4. Our creative elements for our new series were OFF THE HOOK! Set design looks awesome, videos were amazing, and we even had a concession stand with pop-corn, pickles, and cokes! Congrats Joaquin on the popcorn maker!
5. Felt great about the message yesterday. Preached on adapting, surviving, and thriving during transition and change. Had planned on preaching about Joseph, but God called an audible and I preached about Joshua's journey from Numbers 13 & 14 to Joshua 1. God moved in a powerful way, wow!
6. Was great to see some new faces and some old friends yesterday!
7. Youth Week @ Alto Frio was phenomenal! What an amazing week with our students and with 300 other students from around the state. My good friend Josh Tapia was used by God in a powerful way to reach tons of students and impact everyone. Josh and I were made honorary members of Team Impact. Josh also does one of the best Joker impressions I've ever heard! You should hear his explanation of how he got his scars at camp!
8. So proud of our students and our student leadership team. Joaquin Ochoa, our Student Minister and his wife Jessica, along with the element team are some amazing leaders. They are being used by God in a great way to pour into the lives of our students! Our students are PHENOMENAL!!!
9. Enjoyed being able to lead a seminar on finding your identity in Christ with the Middle Schoolers. Was very impressed with them.
10. This was Clarissa's first camp as part of our Student Ministry and I so enjoyed seeing her experiencing it. Will never forget it!
11. Can't wait to head back in about three weeks to Alto Frio with Michelle as I will be the Camp Pastor at Camp Emmanuel! Can't wait and I'm very excited about what God has given me to share with the students that will be there!
12. Week before camp, had some great vacation time with the family. We stayed local and went to the Island and had a great time there. It was Trey's first time at the beach and I will never forget his reaction to the sand and ocean when he saw it for the first time! wow! Had a great day at Schlitterbahn--the kids had a blast and when they have a blast, I have a blast.
13. Tough to hear about the details emerging about Steve McNair's death. I loved that guy. He was the last quarterback the Houston Oilers ever had. Saw him play in the House of Pain (Astrodome).
14. Enjoyed playing 9 holes of golf with Clarissa this morning. She cranked a drive 200 yards with a 3-wood! We were inspired by watching Tiger win his own tournament yesterday, the AT&T National. Dad and I were there last year and it was great. Congressional Country Club is a prestine, traditional, amazing golf course.
15. Really looking forward to speaking at Surge Forward this October in Fort Worth. This unique and powerful conference is the brainchild of my good friend Bobby Minor. He's done a phenomenal job putting it together and I know God is going to do the amazing with it! Find out more about it here.
Hope you have a great week!
Rob, yeah Youth Week @ Alto Frio was awesome. God used Josh in a great way. Thanks for all of your encouraging words. Love what God is doing through you all in Duncanville. Keep taking territory for the Kingdom my friend. God bless.
