Sitting here chillin with the family, watching the Biggest Loser finale. Been a great couple of days and been reflecting on what God is doing.
1. Amazing Mother's Day weekend at Cornerstone! Wow. We had an amazing time lifting up Jesus and honoring all of our moms. Moms are an amazing reflection of God's love.
2. We witnessed 7 people experience new life in Christ! Absolutely amazing to see God bring life-change!
3. Had the thrill of dedicating to the Lord, 8 babies/children during our services! Awesome to see parents and families step up to declare their faith and commit to raising their children God's way.
4. Loved wrapping up the message with a challenge from Joshua 4. Challenged our folks to create spiritual landmarks for their children of God's faithfulness, love, and purpose. As parents, we not only need to create memories for our kids, we need to create spiritual landmarks that remind us of what God has done and what He will do.
5. Our student ministry knocked it out of the park with a fundraiser for their summer activities on Saturday. Thank you to all of you who helped out on that day and to those of you who helped our youth by participating.
6. Pumped up about things that are happening this summer!
7. Pumped about our students heading to Youth Week @ Alto Frio in June. It will be Clarissa's first camp experience!
8. Pumped up about speaking at Camp Emmanuel in Leakey, Texas in July! Love that camp!
9. Pumped up about some things we've been talking through and praying through as a staff. God is up to some great things!
10. Pumped up about some creative elements we'll be using during our new series.
11. Pumped up about our new series WELCOME TO THE REVOLUTION that kicks-off this Sunday!!!
12. Warning! Warning! Warning! If you're a "professional Christian" you're gonna hate this new series. :)
13. Rockets getting stomped right now. Not cool. :(
14. Excited about the messages God has given me for this series. Locked and loaded and ready to go!
15. MY WIFE IS AMAZING. I ADMIRE HER FAITH, HER RESOLVE, HER STRENGTH, AND HER DETERMINATION.
16. Read some amazing blog posts last night by a member of our church. ROCKED MY WORLD and reminded me of why we do what we do. Do I need a reminder? I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I'm glad God does remind me through amazing stories of life-change! Hopefully I'll have them up soon.
17. God has been blowing me away with the book of Joshua lately.
18. Other than the Bible, been in a real reading funk lately. Can't make sense of it. I usually devour books, but I've been having a hard time lately.
19. Very pumped up about starting Dave Ramsey's FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY for our community and church this summer! Preview meeting this Sunday after our second service! FPU kicks-off on June 2nd!
20. Had a great time with my Community Team at the RGV Dorados game last night. The Dorados are our local Arena 2 football team and it's a great environment. Some fast-paced action and some great hits last night! Some of the best ones were with the walls! Best part was my dad joined us!
21. Really learning the lesson right now between the difference of working "on" your ministry and working "in" your ministry.
22. Really pumped up about a couple of pastors/church leaders that I've connected with that we'll be joining us at Cornerstone over the next couple of weekends. Looking forward to connecting in even greater ways.
23. Heard on NFL Network today, 88 days till the Hall of Fame game. :( Really? Can't we just start football season next week?!!!
24. Saw Colt McCoy and Mack Brown on ESPN yesterday. Have a VERY GOOD FEELING about my HORNS this coming season. :) Also realized that next to mine, Kirk Herbstreit has the best job in the world!
25. I love and am blown away by the amazing folks we have at Cornerstone. Your service, your heart, your attitude, your love... BLOWS ME AWAY!
26. Re-organizing our offices right now. "Efficiency" and "structure" are code words around our office right now. I'm not the best at that, but we're getting there. I have a date with a gallon of paint and a roller manana!
