Memorial Day is all about sacrifice. The greatest sacrifice that one human can give for another, their life. Today I'm full of pride, joy, and gratitude for all of our amazing heroes who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
As the son of a Viet Nam Vet (US Army), and the grandson of a World War II Vet (US Navy), I'm extremely proud of the greatest fighting force on Earth, the United States military. Last summer my dad and I had the opportunity to go to D.C. and visit all the different memorials. It was one of the most humbling experiences of my life. We visited the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, and of course, stood at the Viet Nam WALL. Very solemn experience and the respect and reverence at each memorial was powerful. We also visited Arlington National Cemetary and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier which is guarded 24/7/365 and witnessed the changing of the guard. Awesome experience.
Thank you to all who gave their lives so that we might live in freedom. FREEDOM IS NOT FREE! THANK YOU!
